  18. About ThorTCP Beta 4
  19. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  20. These  software  tools  provide an easy way receive and send news/mail
  21. using a TCP/IP connection (like AmiTCP, AS225, MLink, etc). Tools are
  22. provided that should satisfy both shell and GUI users.

  24. NOTE:   All  the executables are compiles for AS225.  To use them with
  25. AmiTCP,  you will need to install the socket.library emulation library
  26. that  is included with Grapevine or can be found on Aminet in comm/net
  27. as socketlib10a.lha.

  29. GetTCP  is  used  for getting mail and news, while SendTCP is used for
  30. sending  mail  and  news  that you have written, joining and resigning
  31. newsgroups, etc.

  33. ConnectTHOR  is  used  for  integrating  these  programs into a single
  34. program.  It also contain a nice news browser what will let you select
  35. a  newsgroup and download only the articles you want be selecting them
  36. from a list with dragselection.

  38. NOTE:   These  programs are "work in progress" and not all features we
  39. would  like to add is present at this time.  However, we feel that the
  40. programs  are so stable and work so well that they should satisfy most
  41. THOR users.

  45. Beta 4:
  46. -------
  47. ConnectTHOR:
  48. - Fixed the problem with ConnectTHOR asking for a password upon startup
  49.   even though the password had been configured already.
  50. - Fixed the DELETE switch problem once and for all (hopefully).
  51. - MAXDAYS wasn't working correctly, should be fixed now.
  52. - Configured POPPORT will be used.
  53. - Configured background window picture will be used.
  54. - Error messages should be displayed properly.
  55. - Fixed a reference to freed memory when closing the newsbrowse window.

  57. CfgTCP:
  58. - Fixed a crash when quitting when Mungwall was running (used freed
  59.   memory).
  60. - Configured background window picture will be used.
  61. - POP port can be configured to something else than 110, if needed.
  62.  
  63. GetTCP:
  64. - "failure when adding message"-bug fixed. This one would also give
  65.   an Enforcer hit.
  66. - Should work better with all kinds of pop hosts.
  67. - Will get the time from the newsserver so local clock will not
  68.   be used (this was actually done in beta 3, but left out of the history
  69.   file :).
  70. - POP Port can be set on the command line, if started from shell.
  71. - Will exit when password has been entered wrong (when run from shell).

  73. SendTCP:
  74. - Fixed a bug that could make it stop on some SMTP servers.
